Co-design processes allow the “consumer, end user or recipient” to become part of the process of creating treatment guidelines, policy documents or education and awareness materials. This leads to products that are more likely to be successful in their application and outcomes.
Mahlie has used her over 30 year experience with mental health systems as well as her formal education and training to led and facilitate numerous co-design processes with mental health organisations in their branding, resource development and client engagement processes.
This might include: running workshops with groups of consumers and service users, investigating their needs, wants, preferences and ideas to move towards better product and service delivery, providing unbias mediation and process to move through differences in beliefs or opinion, achieving negotiated outcomes and arriving at a consensus.
Mahlie’s work on co-design and advocacy has been published nationally and she is currently the Lived Experience Consultant with
The Australian BPD Foundation and
Project Air Strategy.
Her work with Project Air has lead to her co-authorship of
several academic publications, including manuals for DBT education and specialist treatment programs and strategies for people living with personality disorder.
PLEASE NOTE: AS OF 2023, MAHLIE NO LONGER PROVIDES GRAPHIC DESIGN SERVICES SUCH AS PUBLICATION OR BRANDING DESIGN.
